Our trainers are here while your dog is groomed
Glass City K9 has trained dogs in Toledo since 2011, including the anxious, fearful and reactive ones other places send home. Those same trainers work in this building, and they are here during grooming appointments.
That matters if your dog panics on the table, has never been groomed, guards their paws or their ears, or has already been turned away somewhere else.
We do not sedate dogs. We read the dog, work at the dog’s pace, and there is always someone in the building who handles difficult dogs for a living.

Priced by weight, so you know what to expect before you book. Every price is a starting price. Coat condition and size can change the final number, and we will confirm it with you before we begin.

What each service includes
Basic Bath. Bath, blow dry and nail trim.
Bath & Brush. Bath, blow dry, 15 minutes of brushing, nails trimmed.
Deluxe De-Shed Bath & Brush. Specialized shampoo and conditioner, extra brushing time, blow dry.
Bath & Trim. Face, feet and sanitary trim, 15 minutes of brushing, and a nail trim.
Full Groom. A full haircut to your desired length, bath and blow dry, 10 minutes of brushing.
Doodle Full Groom. For doodles, poodles and other high-maintenance coats. Tell us the breed when you book.
De-shedding for heavy coats
Huskies, shepherds, labs and other double-coated dogs blow their coat twice a year. A de-shed appointment in spring and fall pulls the loose undercoat out at the salon instead of onto your floor. A De-Shedding Treatment ($20 to $30) can also be added to any service.
Nail trims and add-on services
A Nail Trim is $18 and a Nail Grind is $20 when added to any grooming service.
Nail walk-ins welcome. Nails are the one thing you don’t need an appointment for. Walk in during open hours:

Grooming is by appointment only. That is how we keep the shop calm and give every dog the time they need. Nail trims are the exception: walk-ins welcome during open hours.

Before your first visit
Vaccinations. We need proof of rabies, Bordetella and DHLPP. If your paperwork lists the components separately, we need to see all five: distemper, hepatitis or adenovirus, leptospirosis, parainfluenza and parvovirus. Bring them to your first appointment or email them ahead. We keep them on file for a year and let you know when they are due again.
Cancellations. We ask for 24 hours’ notice. Cancellations inside that window carry a $25 fee.
Matting. If we find severe matting, we stop and call you before we go any further, so the decision is yours.
Sedation. We do not sedate dogs, and we do not need to.
Pick-up. There is a one-hour grace window on either side of your appointment. After that, a $35 boarding fee applies.
Emergency contact. We ask for one when you book. In a medical emergency, if we cannot reach you or your emergency contact, we transport to South Suburban Animal Hospital in Perrysburg.
Common questions
How much does dog grooming cost in Toledo?
At Glass City K9, a full groom starts at $55 for a dog under 25 pounds and $110 for a dog over 100 pounds. A basic bath starts at $26. Full pricing is posted above. Every price is a starting price, and coat condition can change the final number.
Do you groom aggressive or anxious dogs?
Yes. We are a dog training facility first, and our trainers are in the building during grooming appointments. Tell us what to expect when you book so we can schedule the right amount of time.
Do you sedate dogs for grooming?
No. We work at the dog’s pace instead.
How often should my dog be groomed?
Most coats do well on a six to eight week schedule. Double-coated dogs benefit from a de-shed appointment in spring and fall.
Do you take walk-ins?
For nail trims, yes. Walk in during open hours ($20 for a trim or dremel, $25 for both). Grooming services are by appointment, so every dog gets the time and the quiet they need.
